THE HELICOPTER FLIGHT
Aptly known as the “Flight of the Angels” the helicopter flight is the best way to see the falls in its’ full splendor.Giving you the most spectacular bird’s eye view of what the whole waterfall looks like at one go this is by far the best vantage point for all the spectacular photographs ever taken of the Victoria Falls.Being a very flexible mode of transport the helicopter flies throughout the day thereby giving you the flexibility of catching the best light for your photographs and video.
Warning though because of the sheer size in grandeur of the waterfall, you are always in awe and end up gazing at the marvel and forgetting to click on the shuttle.!!

THE MICROLITE FLIGHT USD180

An adrenaline twist added on the spectacular view of the falls from the air.The Microlite offers an uninterrupted 360 degree view of the Victoria Falls.An open cockpit craft as you sit behind the pilot with no glass or wings restricting your view.Microlite are done on the Zambian side so pick-ups and drop offs will be at the Zimbabwean border.Because of its size this is a weather sensitive aircraft and flights can only be done either early morning or late afternoon.You are not allowed to take your camera on the Microlite but there is a camera fixed on the wind and the pilot will take the photos.

VISAS
If you are staying on the Zimbabwean side and are keen on doing the Microlite, you will need to have a double entry visa for Zimbabwe on your initial entry so as to cover a second entry after your Microlite. Day visa for entering Zambia is USD20.If you are on a single entry visa for Zimbabwe you need to purchase a full single entry on returning from your flight

UPPER ZAMBEZI RIVER ACTIVITIES

One of the best ways to view the magnificent sunsets and unwind is to finish the day is to do a sunset cruise.As you make your way along the upper river, you have the chance to sip on your sun-downers and keep a look out for animals on either sides of the river.The Zambezi on this section cuts through two national parks and game varies depending on the water levels.Africa at its finest….. the sunsets are spectacular giving you the different shades of on the horizon.

 

CANOE SAFARIS  USD150+USD10 park fees

For those who want to experience the wonders of the Zambezi River at a slightly more subdued pace, canoeing on the upper river is the way to go.The bird-life and game that has made the banks of the river home can be seen at close range as you paddle yourself down the river. Approximately 18km of river frontage on this trip a bit of an adrenaline rush is added as we paddle down class 1 rapids which occasional cuts the river into fast moving water.Two man inflatable canoes are used on this trip

What better way is there to spend the afternoon than being paddled downstream in a three-man canoe while sipping on ice-cold drinks and wines from a cooler box especially supplied for you? You sit back and enjoy the scenery,the snacks and the drinks, while that guide does the paddling.This trip concentrates on the flat water section of the Zambezi and the Canadian style canoes used silently cut through the water giving you close encounters with wildlife.Birdlife is fantastic on these trips and because of the structure of the canoes you can go under the channel sections of the river where game usually hides away.

This is a sundowner trip, only available in the late afternoon.

CHOBE DAY TRIP-BOTSWANA  USD160

Undoubtedly one of Africa’s most beautiful rivers,the Chobe supports diversity and concentration of wildlife unparallel anywhere else in Botswana.Established in 1968, the park covers approximately 11 7 00 sq kms,encompassing floodplains,swamps and woodland.The Chobe River forms its northern boundary There are four distinct geographical areas in the park and the Chobe Riverfront is the most accessible and frequently visited of Botswana’s big game country.Its proximity to Victoria Falls makes it the top game viewing option in the area and a day trip into the park is very rewarding.A combination of a 3 hour game cruise and a 3 hour game drive on the day trip give you a cross section of fantastic sightings from plains game,big game, frequent sighting of the big cats, and some fantastic birding experiences.

If you are on a single entry visa for Zimbabwe you need to purchase a full single entry on returning from your trip. Most nationalities do not need visa for Botswana. THE LIVINGSTONE ISLAND- DEVIL’S POOL

Dubbed the ultimate infinity pool and picnic spot in the world, , The Devil’s Pool is a natural rock pool on the edge of the Victoria Falls adjacent to Livingstone Island on the Zambian side of the Zambezi river.

During the dry season, Devil’s Pool is shallow enough that people can safely swim right to the edge before the waterfall drops more than 300 feet (100m). Five trips a day to Livingstone Island are offered and transfers are done from the landing at the Royal Livingstone Hotel in a twin-engine boat that carries up to 12 people, taking you through the fast-moving channels of the Zambezi, a thrilling journey. Exclusivity is what makes the island special as only 14 people are allowed on the island per trip.
Upon getting on the island, you will be given a guided tour, learning about its history from ancient times, when it served as a sacrificial site, to the present day and its World Heritage status. The swim in the pool is as close as you can get to the thunderous roar and permanent rainbows of this magnificent Natural World Wonder.
