DAY 2,3& 4
Today we leave the town of Victoria Falls and head to Hwange National Park.
Hwange National Park, located just south of Victoria Falls, is the largest reserve in Zimbabwe. Hwange National Park is home to one of the highest concentration of game: the park boasts more than 100 different animal species and over 400 species of birds. Moreover, Hwange is world famous for its 30,000 elephants, making it one of the few great elephant sanctuaries left in Africa.
Our time in Hwange will be spent at Sable Sands Lodge Sable Sands Lodge, situated on the magical Dete Vlei.
The Dete vlei is a dried up river with multiple waterholes of which a 7 km stretch belongs to the Sable Sand concession, which allows them private game viewing in this area. Although it positioned outside the boundary of Hwange National Park, it is essentially the same area and game wanders freely through this concession and the park.
